One small step for our garden….
Well maybe not a giant leap for vegkind but quite a bit of progress. There are actually plants in the soil!. The garlic which was started off in modules in the winter have been moved in to the raised beds. The variety is Lautrec Wight from Thompson and Morgan. I’ve also got two growhouses from Homebase (tied to the wall to stop them blowing away in the wind – a lesson learned which is why one is smaller than the other). In the bags along the fence on the right are chitted potatoes, also from Thompson and Morgan (a mix of 6 different earlies in these grow bag/pot things). And in the pots strewn all over the place are bare root perennials bought back in the winter (when nobody was after plants and they were cheap) ready to go in the flower beds – I’ll tell you about the varieties when I plant them. Oh and I should add the soil/manure to finish filling the beds came from somebody I found off the internet (Dow’s Garden Supplies) and it is probably the best you can get. Definitely recommended and very friendly (and I’m not on commission!).
